Total Sonic Annihilation

This: Total Sonic Annihilation Pedal - a Deathbyaudio.net product

  1. has me excited to check my mail again!
  2. is a sound example of why paypal is evil. It’s soooo easy!

I like audio gear :). Though, if you check out the samples of what this thing does you’ll find this little box to be more of a bastard noise machine than a ‘pedal’.

I can’t see how this won’t unlock my inner genius and fast-track my yet to be named Japanese noise tour. Consider yourself warned!

4 r33l - str3$$D@#$%^&*(!)_!

June 18th, 2008

Toooo much shi~ on the go for this cowboy.!` OR too much personal pressure? F*cK if I know!`

Making rap music, trying to ‘run a label’ - maintaining 7 myspace accounts, recording/mixing the music, learning/doing PHP, sending press kits, paying for promo, playing shows - running a day job, maintaining a clean space, staying fit, planning a bachelor party, eating well, saving money & still being a good friend who you can have a beer with;:-> is burning my dumb a$s out.

Though, now that I’ve put the b!tch down to the internet I am feeling a little better. While I’m on the ‘cry about the good life’ stint;;;;; Some bullets. that suck:

  • the washing machine in my building went up $0.19. It is now impossible to clear the cash off your card completely. smoooth move SmartCard:::>> Card abandonment $crilla on the incline.
  • Jumbo Pizza Winnipeg - sent us vegetarians an all meat pizza then refused to admit a mistake.
  • The little button on my phone has started to work 68% of time => Cool; if it wasn’t essential to almost every function@!#$%^!
  • I’m 26 => talented => and not rich!

These r m@ t3arz. One tidbit of real information 4 u:

One thing that I have noticed about both my sense of humor;; and the DEAFWISH style communique;; is that no one realizes that it is based heavily on the principles of text messaging culture;:> & Neoism?! duh!#

I promise the next post will be more coherent. Thanks for reading.

I’m Back (4 now)

June 10th, 2008

I had pretty much forgotten about this site, but in the last couple weeks a few people told me they missed reading soooo…..I’ll try it again. In reference to my last post about plotting my life on some little grid, that lasted about 6 days. I talked to the guy that invented it and he told me he didn’t even have the discipline to use his own system. We’ll call that another idea that’s good ‘on paper’. :P

In the last two weeks I recorded and mixed The Ex-Girlfriends second album, Love ‘em and Leave ‘em. They haven’t heard it yet but I think it sounds like garagey girl power. It is the fastest I’ve ever had to mix/master a disc and I would prefer to never do it again.

BANDS (for reference): There is more to a recording than you playing your songs into the microphones. Remember that.

MC/DJ Knife and I are trying to hook up some international street cred by getting rappers for a mixtape. If you know anyone, let me know. None of that backpack shit, our beats are too heavy for multi-syllabic sucka’z.

Plotting Life Progress - A Paper Trail

November 14th, 2007

The ???????? ????? ????????Flash in the Can Roadshow is coming through town this Saturday, are you going?

I was looking through the list of presenters and came across Jason Theodor’s website, there is no box.

Jason, like many of us, is busy and has found it helpful to keep small a reminder list to keep him on track in both his personal and professional life. Enter, his Mundane LifeFocus Cards!

The goal of the cards is to provide a simple framework that will help you keep important tasks and goals at the forefront of your busy day to day life.

You can download fillable PDF templates for a seven day, foldable card set at his website. Then just fill in your reminders, goals and to dos and go from there. The card also has a small space to track how much sleep you got each day (’cuz sleep is important!)

Don’t forget to track your progress.

I’m putting his system to the test to see whether it can work for me. I’ve tried Google calender, setting reminders in my phone and carrying lists with me before but all have fallen by the wayside.

The fact that a single piece of paper is used for seven days puts more emphasis on me actually maintaining the sheet and not losing ??????24 fox ringtones verizon ringtones nextel real music ringtones free cingular ringtones 24 ctu ringtones cell phone ringtones wallpaper cell phone ringtones verizon free cellular phone ringtones cellular phone ringtones samsung polyphonic ringtones free sprint cell phone ringtones 24 tv show ringtones hotlink caller ringtones free samsung ringtones hotlink maxis caller ringtones free motorola razr ringtones free motorola ringtones free t mobile ringtones for cell phone free t mobile ringtones free samsung x427 ringtones it (hopefully).

I’ll report back on how it’s working for me.

Party Like a Rock Star at Pubcon

November 9th, 2007

I’ve been meaning to write a post for the Shoemoney Pubcon Contest for the last two days but I’ve been caught up producing an MC Greasy Burger Video.

I thought about bragging about my skills or boring the judges with internet projects I’ve worked on but I figured, why would they care? So i decided to have some fun and spent 20 minutes making a video blog.

It may be too late to enter this contest, as Shoe said they would have finalists by tomorrow, but I figured it was worth a shot. I’ll still be a rock star in the morning either way.

Cr-appberry

November 7th, 2007

So I’ve been installing apps on my Blackberry and getting a feel for what’s out there. So far, I’m disappointed.

First shot, the facebook app. Hype around the web called this one Blackberry’s big reach for the consumer market. Unfortunatly, the missed the grab.

While the app let’s you do a lot of regular facebook’s functions the interface is clunky and linear. It’s a pain to check mail messages and does not sync with your web based account. So if you log in on a computer after checking messages on your phone, don’t expect things to balance out. I was back on the browser pretty quick after installing this app.

Next up, Gmail. I don’t have much to say about this one yet (I just installed it this afternoon) but I do have 1 question.

Why is big G trying to access my phone book info? And why, when I refuse access, must it crash the whole application and erase the mail I was composing?

Given that I used nearly a quarter of my monthly bandwidth to download these two cr-apps, I’m left saying: I want my bandwidth back!

3D Web is Stupid

October 24th, 2007

They revolutionized your email:

Then they changed the way you shop:

Then they realized nobody cared. Or do they? Does anyone remember VRML? I didn’t until I saw a posting about the kinset shopping experience and realized people were still trying to take the look of the ‘meat space’ into the virtual space.

My professional opinion is: that is stupid.

Elegantly put, I know, but putting an elaborate 3D interface between me and the information I want isn’t a benefit. Does this appeal to the second life users out there? The kids maybe?

Not that I can tell. I would say apps like these are a key indication that there is too much money being poured into the internet.

Live blogging - from the bus

October 22nd, 2007

Despite my complaints about the Rodgers service I receive, I decided to stay on with them.

What does this matter?

Well with Rodgers (less than stellar) upgrade incentive I hooked myself up with a new BlackBerry pearl.

I’m curenetly on the bus, on my way home from the office. Overall i’m pretty impressed with how well wordpress works in the blackberry browser.

After about two weeks on the keyboard I’m getting faster and am well on my way to cramped thumbs and anxiety attacks.

Anyway, sorry for the lack of substance in this post. I just wanted to see how it would work out.

Onward!

Tagging - It’s So Hip, but what’s up with it?

October 3rd, 2007

So hip in fact that we’re doing wild style! Meaning it’s part of one of my work projects and I’ve spent some hours reading, trying to get into the “tag space” and understand where the world is at on the subject.

Of course I had to check out some implementations of the concept so Flickr, de.licio.us, ma.gnolia and a bunch of other tagging sites have crossed my screen.

If you’re new to the concept and looking for a little more insight I found these articles that might help to understand, at a high level, where tagging is at and where it might need to go.
